Overview

The DF6 brings 4-stroke performance and efficiency to portable outboards. Compact and lightweight, the DF6 is easy to transport and delivers surprising low- and mid-range torque for quick acceleration.

Knowing that small portables like the DF6 get transported a lot, we set out to design this outboard compact and lightweight to make transporting easier. Not to stop there, we added features that would make its operation easy and more user friendly. As four-strokes, the DF6 outboard deliver clean, economical operation, and being made by Suzuki, you know it delivers excellent power, performance, and durability.

PROVIDING POWER
Powering the DF6, is a single-cylinder 4-stroke OHV engine with a large displacement of 138cm3. Its excellent mid-range torque combined with light weight results in excellent acceleration. Also, four-stroke operation provides the DF6 with greater fuel-efficient operation, less vibration and quiet operation while eliminating the need for mixing oil with the fuel, etc. This keeps your boating experience clean, pleasant and user friendly.

584 Imgclean En 1TILLER HANDLE
Equipped with a tiller handle that extends out from the long steering bracket. This design positions the operator further forward in the boat to provide better weight distribution which, helps in getting an inflatable to plane quicker. The outboard is designed to turn 90-degrees both left and right of center. This feature helps docking and tight turning of the boat while its 90-degree stopping points provide an easy to recognize reference of the outboard’s angle. With the tiller handle attached to the steering bracket rather than the motor itself, and the utilization of a large rubber mount inside the same steering bracket, vibration in the tiller handle has been greatly reduced.

CARRYING AND TILT UP HANDLE
Carrying the outboard is made easier with the incorporation of a large, ring shaped carrying handle. Designed with smooth edges and lacking any sharp angles, the large carrying handle offers plenty of space for both hands. A tilt up handle built into the backside of the engine cover offers easy tilting of the outboard. Pulling back on the handle makes tilting of the engine from the normal drive position to any one of the two shallow water drive positions or tilt up position a simple operation.

PILOT WATER HOLE AND FRESH WATER FLUSHING SYSTEM
The pilot water hole is located upstream of the cylinder to confirm that there is water circulation soon after the motor is started. The pilot water hole’s water inspection tube is removable to permit cleaning of the tube and the attachment of an optional connector that allows freshwater flushing of the water jacket.

INTEGRAL FUEL TANK
Equipped with a built-in 1.5-liter fuel tank that is the largest fuel tank offered in the same fourstroke class.

A REVOLUTION IN INNOVATION

The DF6 brings 4-stroke performance and efficiency to portable outboards. Compact and lightweight, the DF6 is easy to transport and delivers surprising low- and mid-range torque for quick acceleration.

Knowing that small portables like the DF6 get transported a lot, we set out to design this outboard compact and lightweight to make transporting easier. Not to stop there, we added features that would make its operation easy and more user-friendly. As four-strokes, the DF6 outboard deliver clean, economical operation, and being made by Suzuki, you know it delivers excellent power, performance, and durability.

More compact and much lighter

While maintaining the engine displacement of 138cm3, the conventional design has been overhauled and downsized to realize 1.0kg weight reduction (24.0kg*1). The lighter weight has improved operability. Along with weight reduction, the carrying handle integrated into the lower cover which has been rounded and made easier to hold, and an additional grip at the front further improve its portability.

Suzuki DF6AL Enhanced user-friendliness

The overhead integral fuel tank and the new lubricating systems allow transport and storage of the outboard on any of three sides (port, starboard, or front) without leakage of fuel or oil.

Because the overhead fuel tank is placed right above the carburettor, it also allows gravity fuel supply, enabling the engine to start instantly right after filling fuel, even after long-term storage. These features have enhanced its user-friendliness as a portable outboard motor.

Lightweight

In addition to a reincarnated stylish appearance, the newly designed and developed Suzuki DF6A, DF5A and DF4A boast the unrivalled lightweight, 24.0Kg (S-shaft models). The lighter weight has improved portability as well as operability.

Outstanding Handle Operation

An ease of handling that has enjoyed great popularity. Further improvements to the tiller handle have successfully mitigated vibrations contributing to fatigue and stress when transmitted to the hand during operation. The DF6A, DF5A and DF4A particularly excel at vibration mitigation in the mid-range.

Suzuki DF6AL Offset Crankshaft

Positioning the crankshaft slightly off center of the cylinder reduces lateral pressure against the cylinder wall as the piston moves up and down in the cylinder. The result is smoother piston movement, which improves operating efficiency.

Suzuki DF6AL Easy After-Storage Start

Because the integral overhead fuel tank and one-way valve allow gravity fuel supply, the engine can be started without opening the engine cover, even after long term storage.

Suzuki DF6AL Silencer

The forced lubrication system of the DF6A, DF5A and DF4A has an additional oil passage to the upper and lower crankshaft and connecting rod big end. The addition of a first-in-its-class** oil filter greatly increases the reliability of the lubricating system. Furthermore, the new position of the oil window allows for visual confirmation of the actual lubricating condition.

Suzuki protects its outboards with an anti-corrosion finish specially developed by Suzuki. Applied directly to the aluminum surface it maximizes the bond between the finish and the surface, increasing the protection and durability of parts that are constantly exposed to saltwater.

Suzuki DF6AL Three-Way Storage

The new fuel and lubricating systems allow extremely convenient storage of the outboard on any of three sides (port, starboard or front) without worrying about the storage orientation.

Suzuki DF6AL Improved Portability Inner Handle

The carrying handle integrated into the lower cover has been rounded and made easier to hold.

Suzuki DF6AL New Tilt System

The tilt system of the DF6A and DF4A offers different up-and-down paths of the shallow drive arm compared with the previous models. When raised, it can be locked at three positions. When lowered, it can just be smoothly moved to its lowest position without locking.
